Dr Albert Odulele, the pastor of a global evangelical movement, Glory House International, based in the UK, has been charged with sex offences.

Dr Odulele, 47, allegedly sexually assaulted some former members of his congregation, one of which was a child under the age of 16.

Dr Odulele, who was arrested last summer by the Metropolitan Police Major Child Abuse Unit, will appear in court next week on two charges of an indecent assault of an under 16 year old, and the sexual assault of another male teenager, between 2003-2004.

The Evangelical Alliance released a statement saying: "Our overriding concern here is for the care, protection and welfare of children and young people, so it is imperative that all churches adopt safe practice in order to protect children and young people from abuse - and staff members and volunteers from the possibility of false accusation."

Glory House International, which was registered as a charity 18 years ago, has a congregation of 3,000 with many followers from around the world. The church is believed to turnover £2million each year.

Doctor Odulele will appear at Bexley Magistrates Court on Monday.

When IQ4News contacted Glory House International, we were told that they did not have any comment at present.

#1 what are we looking for?

Submitted by Lyle Courtsal (not verified) on Sat, 21/01/2012 - 6:28pm.

We are looking for what is absent in this fallen world; friends, mutual aid, justice, freedom from oppression and exploitation, maturity and restraint, a moral example a leader a community of people who are trustworthy and don't hurt each other. This is why it is that the faith of the Bible is expressed individualistically. When an institutional leadership fails us, each of us have recourse to Jesus Christ and all the saints and angels, known and even unknown to assist us. For the truth is even though we have been failed and forgotten in this world, our plight is known still to the saviour and his Father God. We can look to the example and prayers of the saints that we know of who have gone before us to help us on our way through uncharted and hostile new lands knowing that the holy ones have tread that path before us and know how hard that is. Pray for strength, guidance, and provision in your time of trial and you will be provided for even miraculously in your individual specificiity, male and female. God Bless you and Keep you in your time of testing in the name of God, Jesus Christ, all the saints and angels, known and unknown, and the Holy Ghost, now and forever. Pray that you endure to the end of days in these dark days here on earth to go on to the promises of the eternal Kingdom. People will fail us, but the saviour will not. I am an Orthodox Christian, Lord have mercy.

#3 My Beloved Pastor Albert

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 03/04/2011 - 11:38pm.

I am amazed at how many posts asks for prayers for the pastor and his family and say nothing about the real victims - the poor children who were molested! Do they not deserve prayers for healing and restoration too? Or are they just as disposable in your eyes as they were in Pastor Albert's eyes! Pastor Albert - homosexual, Bi-Sexual or Heterosexual - whatever he chooses to call his sexuality is irrelevant. What is relevant here is that he violated 2 little children! That is a crime - period. Now I am shocked at a so-called lawyer stating that it was twice, therefore it is not grooming and it is on the low end and is not pre-meditated. I will ask you 2 questions Jess - 1. If rape is not pre-meditated, it just happened in a dark alley way - does it make it less of a rape, my dear lawyer? The answer is no - rape is rape. 2. Are you a mother - if this was your little boy - would you still be as defensive of this paedophile as you are having sat under his preaching anointing? I am a believer and I know Pastor Albert very well, but what he did is called PAEDOPHILIA and it is a sin before God, and thank God, it is a crime in the United Kingdom punishable by a prison term. Finally, he did not confess, he was found out, arrested and he denied any wrong doing and put these little brave children through hell a second time, until the incontrovertible evidence were undeniable. Only then did he finally admit what he did - You call that confession and repentance - you be the judge. His denial raped those children again! Those children, if they do not receive healing and support will struggle through life with confused sexuality, if not careful molest a minor themselves, commit suicide, become depressed, serious trust issues, have nightmares and terrors, flashbacks, difficulties in forming sexual relationship with their spouse in future, destruction of their faith in Christ as this man epitomised Christianity and everything that is Godly, a position of trust that should never have been abused etc etc. People need to understand that these children are the real victims - they need us to hold them up in prayers, their families especially their mothers who are going through confusion, guilty (for leaving their sons to this devastation), frustration, anger, torment - and for your information it may lead to the break-up of those families particularly in situations where one spouse was not really in support of the family going to that church. The un-song heroes are these brave kids! My heart goes out to them! I know what they are going through. The pastor, particularly his wife (who would have suffered years of unfulfilment in her marriage); and his poor children he has shamed - just imagine what his kids will be called in their posh private school. My darling beloved Pastor Albert needs God's forgiveness and all his victims' (direct and indirect victims') forgiveness and I hope that he will belong to the 30% of PAEDOPHILES that do not re-offend! If you look back into his background, which is none of my business, you may find that he may have been molested in his own childhood or have been rejected by a father figure - well possible, but as I stated, none of my business. People who post here should try and educate themselves about the devastating effect of child sexual abuse and as for the lawyer Jess, there is no psychological yardstick to measure the level of devastation that a child may suffer due to a sexual encounter whether it is just touching or full-on sex - all contact effects are very devastating - there's just no way of telling how much damage the child will suffer. In all of this, because I believe in the healing power of God, I hope those kids and their families in prayers, so do I Pastor Albert and his family. God bless you all.

#4 Answer to "he needs to repent" - he also needs healing!

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 27/03/2011 - 9:53pm.

As a man who has struggled with issues of my sexuality in the past, I was confused as a result of the sexual abuse I suffered as a child and the emotional, physical and psychological abuse and rejection by my Father.  If it was not for my relationship with God, chances are I would have given up struggling to fight against feelings that I hated and living in torment every day of my life or “accepting” myself as a homosexual/bi-sexual man by the time I was in my mid-twenties despite the fact I was having a thoroughly enjoyable sexual relationship with my girlfriend at the time (sin is so deceptive).

Obviously if I had taken the latter route, society would have managed to convince me that I was “born that way”.  I believe this is a lie from hell and thank God for my salvation.  I have a much better understanding of how same-sex attractions develop and can fully understand how a married man with children is still struggling with such feeling like with this Pastor’s case.

Chances are, he has never worked through his issues with a bible believing counsellor or therapist, neither would he have found any support amongst his male Nigerian brothers, which would have been a major healing component to the eventual diminishing of same-sex attractions.  Homosexuality is not about problems in relating to the opposite-sex, it is primarily about not having completed the necessary bonding and healthy interaction with other males, both father figures and peers before the age of puberty.

If those normal God given homo-emotional needs are not met, there is always going to be a deep homo-emotional desire for the same-sex underneath, crying out to be satisfied.  These desires will become sexualised by the time puberty kicks in.  Obviously this is just a quick explanation based on my own journey, but space and time will not permit a more detailed explanation.

I was fortunate in that I found help, healing and a supportive brothers who for the most part were quite secure in their own sexuality to be my friends and support me in the good and bad times.  Now years later, I am married and my wife knows all about my past, but loves me for who God created me to be and my past is not an issue for her whatsoever.  Praise God!

As a black Christian community, we really need to understand this issue properly and provide adequate education and support to those that are struggling.  Obviously the peodophile aspect of this case is another matter, however there are organisations out there in the U.K, U.S.A, that can offer help, education and guidelines that can be implemented to safeguard children in our churches.  However, the first port of call would be for the African/Black churches to stop burying their heads in the sand and recognise that homosexuality and peodophilia are serious issues affecting our communities in a very significant way and they need to be seriously addressed adequately and stop blaming Satan.

We have the power available to us through the Holy Spirit and His Word, but sadly we are saturated in religion which is powerless.

#5 He needs to repent

Submitted by Shipsea (not verified) on Thu, 24/03/2011 - 1:35pm.

Lets not cast this pastor into the lake of fire already, that should be left to God. I believe that there is something to be learnt from this pastor.  It is fascinating for a married man with children after so many years of marriage to come out and say he is confused about his sexuality. We need to interview him to find out what caused him to be confused about his sexuality, was the confusion caused by something he read or saw or did?. The answer to some of these questions will be helpful in counselling people in similar circumstances as him. There are other pastors like him facing the same dilema. Eddie Long for example.

#6 mercy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its just annoying that the church can point accusing fingers to that pastor. I am not in support of what he has done but it is the same church dat would be pointing fingers..why? the bible says...tell it not in gath, publish it not in the street of askelon, lest the daughters of the philistines rejoice and lest the daughters of the uncircumcirsed triumph.

I have been once in pastors shoes where I was accused of the same thing to a young man of about 25 years. In that case, it was the silly guy that undressed himself, he was not sleeping and coming to think of it, i neva invited him over to my place..how come I am guilty?

you see in cases like that, you need to press even the accusers in question if they did not even have any intentions themselves to do rubbish.. I was only guilty of not rebuking him of putting off his clothes and I pleaded guilty and I was arrested by the school police back then.

After some thorough investigations, they found out that the guy was the culprit who had the intentions of coming to do rubbish..i was released and him arrested.
But where I am going to is that those christian friends who should be there when i was going through all that were the ones pointing fingers. They left me all by myself and they didnt even come around to pray.

It would be a shame to the body of christ..(God forbid) if we christians cant protect ourselves and pray for each other while in trial times.

When Jesus was telling peter that satan has desired to sift him as wheat..what do u think Jesus was referring to? who knows, I dont know..it could be this same kind of sin dat could have fallen on peter but he had someone praying for him..Jesus said but I have prayed for you.

It is time for the church to be praying for their pastors and not condemning them..who are we to judge anyway? no body is above sin? there is none that is righteous..no not one.

Im praying for the pastor in question, although i have not known or heard of him until this article came out that God should heal him and be able to continue his work for the kingdom..and the boys in question..God help them too.

people quote the bible ceaselessly as the "word of god" well i ask did god write it? no he did not.

.

the tales in the bible are no more valid or less ridiculous than tales like oduduwa descended from heaven with a chain. i take that back. i understand the chain can be inspected(for a fee) at ile-ife.

this so called bible is a great fiction and jehovah the most blood thirsty deity ever.

do you know that jehovah demande two pigeons from jewish women for every menstruation that is about 24 pigeons a year multiply that by say 500000 e.g. women that is 12 million pigeons and who was selling the pigeons? men of god of course

nowadays it is more advanced but a scam all the same.

since there is no god anyone claiming to be a man of god is a fraudtser.

he is a man of God...i.e MAN first. He's prone to sin as much as we all are. Takes the grace of God to remain annointed. You may not understand but that was the case of Saul in the bible. His fleshiness took the better of him.

His Family needs our support, so also the victims.

Thank God he did not deny it. Thats a major step forward. He's sorry and admits he'd been battling with it.

I hope you all know before you remove the speck in someone's eye, you should check the log in yours.(just that we dont have such time to probe into your eyes)

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 20/03/2011 - 12:33pm.

People like this pastor is a disgrace to the christian faith. It is not about emotions people feel or dediction to a church. The fact remains that he has defiled children in the worst way; he's a paedophile not fit for normal society. Science has shown that once a paedophile always a paedophile- he will always have those urges and tendencies. I pray to god for the families of those children that he has shamed and commend the bravery of the families to come forward thus saving other children from this evil man. He will burn in hell.

I feel so much for you, people like you should be the one to burn in hell- I am sure you dont have a family and obviously not a christian. People like you will look for avenues to insult the ones ordained by God to do his holy will but you send people to tempt the men of God- well I tell you something, may your generations roast in hell from now till eternity. Infact you should be probed too, not only for sex actions but fraud.

Now mark my word, between today that I write and another summer you will be taken to court for some very minor offence that you will go to jail- maybe for pejury, petty theft or even rape.

May devil bless and purnish you at thesame time and the family.

#23 Questions Unanswered

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 15/03/2011 - 1:12pm.

Are there other "sexual-partners" of Pastor Albert within the Glory House Leaderdership?
Apparently a certain "Pastor N" may have to answer a few questions.

There are reports that one or two of our well known black, male, Africa-related GOSPEL SINGERS may have been attempted by a certain Pastor V at Glory House.

If I have been "pre-groomed" or groped by this "Pastor V" at Glory House, is there a number I can call?

One final question; Is it OK to molest my own son (or at least attempt to) even if he is adopted?

Let us continue to pray for the right leadership in our churches in general and also pray that the church becomes responsible when it comes to protecting God's little children.

My dear anonymous friend, I hear your pain.  I can not answer all of your questions, however, my wife and I are putting together a website specifically for those who have suffered similar kinds of spiritual abuse.  We can totally identify as I myself was a victim of pre-grooming and groping by my former pastor in another African led ministry.

No, it is never ok for any person to molest or attempt to molest their own son even if he is adopted.

We will post details of the website when it goes live (hopefully by end of next week) and anyone who wants support, or just someone to talk to can contact us by email or phone in the strictest confidence.  We are here to help in anyway we can and have decided to turn our own misery into a ministry to those that are hurting.

#25 Albert Odulele

Submitted by Abi (not verified) on Sun, 13/03/2011 - 1:35am.

I am a Nigerian, attend Glory House, and always looked upon Pastors of so-called "born again christian churches" with suspicion! In short, i refuse to be easily "fooled" by their utterances or antics; i do not hero-worship Pastors. The reason is because i have always regarded them as fellow human beings, with human failings! However, i can sincerely say that Albert is truly gifted; he has to be gifted to be able to woo a sceptic like me! You have to listen to him preach to get the feel of that aura that comes over one when he opens his mouth on the pulpit. It cannot be described adequately, and i can never quite put my finger on it, but i know it is there when he gets on the pulpit! Please believe me, this is not about hero-worshipping a Pastor; i regard myself as too old and too intelligent to be taken-in by the antics of a fake Pastor( and you can easily see through some of the fake ones!) In the case of Albert Odulele, there is something unique and different about this man.

It was therefore with a heavy heart that i learnt in Nov (or was it Dec?) 2010 that he had been arrested by the Police, for sexual molestation of young boys! The sexual molestation was bad enough, but when my informer said YOUNG BOYS, i was devastated! I am not related to Albert or his wife, but the news felt like a thousand blows to my heart! I started wondering how his lovely & good-natured wife would be feeling, about his children, and other members of his family. After 1 or 2 days, i started rationalising that it was only an accusation and may not yet have any foundation to it, or, it may well be some people within the church (past or present) wanting to "cause trouble."

Unfortunately, when the news broke on the Channel 4 News last monday, and i eventually learnt that Pastor had actually pleaded guilty, then i knew that there indeed was "no smoke without fire." As a church, we must continue to pray (and help where we can) for everyone involved in this saga; we must not for once forget the heavy burden of the psychological impact his wife has to bear: not only for herself, but also for her two children, as well as the husband she thought she was married to! This woman and her children need our prayers for God to give her the strength to deal with the ripple effect of this. This is not to forget the alleged victims; they also need prayers for healing & reconciliation, as said by the Glory House Leaders last sunday.

As to Pastor Albert, i am not privy to the nitty gritty of the story; i cannot pass judgement on him cos rumours are rife (judging from the comments on the internet so far) and i refuse to judge anyone based on rumours! Also, it is between him and his maker. Of course, if he has done wrong and admitted so, he must be punished as is befitting, once he is pronounced guilty by the court of law. I just hope that in wanting to punish, the court will also help put in place a process of rehabilitation so that he can come away from this whole saga a better person, and one who is able to come to terms with his inner "devil", face it and deal with it, so that it will NEVER return to haunt him, or others, again! May the good Lord have mercy on him.

Last but not least, the African community and the way we "idolise" our Pastors: we each of us need to look inside of ourselves, learn to question the way we place our so-called Pastors (or Men-of-God) on pedestals so high, that they cannot but fall off the pedestals one day! We need to remember they are mere mortals, and as such, prone to the failings attributable to mere mortals! It is only God that deserves to be on such a high pedestal, cos it is only him that can stay on it! We are doing our Pastors a disservice by placing them on a pedestal that is too high for them to stay on! Truth be said, a lot of them do not deserve the accolade they are accorded by their congregation; some are obvious rogues and are only running churches as a money-making venture! Nothing to do with "winning souls!" Unfortunately, a lot of my fellow Africans refuse to see what is so glaringly obvious to some of us! They choose to turn a blind eye to some atrocities committed by these Pastors! WE ARE OVER-DOING THIS CHRISTIANITY THING MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! The white man who brought us christianity has not taken it to the extreme with which we Africans are now practising it! It therefore begs the question WHY!! Is it because of poverty? Lack of progress in our respective countries? Or is it because a lot of us have been displaced from our motherlands? What exactly are we searching for? We each of us, and collectively, need to go back to basics on this matter.

Submitted by Bibi (not verified) on Tue, 22/03/2011 - 4:24pm.

God bless you, you have hit the nail on the head. This is best comment I have read. We need to stop this crazy hero worshipping and consentrate more on doing God's will and affecting our community rather than engaging in this eye service business. I urge all true christians who really loves God and the body of christ to make it an habit from now to always pray for the Men of God and our fellow brothers and sisters, it is a disgraceful thing Pastor Odulele has done but we cannot judge him, God will help him, we need to keep praying for Pastor Albert Odulele and his family. The only puzzle for me is that hasnt any of the pastors at Glory House picked this up in their spirit, was there no one among the that can talk to him to warn him or caution him, I cannot understand how got to this level with all the other pastors around him, anyway we just need to tell ourselves the truth in love whenever we notice or perceive that our brother or sister is going astray, that is what the Bible says.

Thanks

Hi

I couldnt have found words so eloqeuntly put that the truth theirin touched and convicted my heart. Im not one to comment on web blogs let alone read them; However, I was fascinated by Dr Odulele and the charisma he posesses.  Truth be told he is a man of immense talent and great annointing.  In so saying,  I think  your article hits the  point head on.  We are so engrossed in uplifting  mortal pastors that we forget that they are mere mortals. Bishop TD Jakes once said, if we can dissappoint our selves yet we love our selves so much, what about other people dissapointing us.  I think we all should concentrate on the message and not the messenger. Nearly all supposed men of God, have inner flaws within them. The list is endless. Paula White, Benny Hin, Jimmy Swaggart, Ashimolowo, etc etc. Some of these pastors have even done time for things they have done. Does this mean they have no annointing? Not at all. Many biblical figues were also like that . My brother , thank you once again for your article. We should  pray for Pastor Albert, his family and his victims. Im sure  this saga unfolde dfor a purpose and ultimately God will get the glory

#29 Who is without sin?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 16/03/2011 - 12:01pm.

There is a scripture that says" The the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery, and when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. "Now Moses, in the law commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?" This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, " He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?"

There is nothing that Jesus does not know, before it happens.

This scripture is taken from John 8: 3-10

#30 Christ hurts too - Unity & Love is absent

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 10/03/2011 - 10:08pm.

CHRISTIANS just don't get it. We are the first to jump and cry crucify when a brother is in trouble. The minute a fellow Christian hits trouble we begin to dance and rejoice! Yet when Pastor was praying for these same people all those years they shouted 'Amen' the loudest and claimed the pronouciations and prophesies but failed to pray for him or even worse still failed to think that they would love, should he feel forlorn and dejected. Someone said he was wondering how this sort of sin was introduced to a man of GOD. Now that is a silly question! Have they ever heard of transference of spirits by the laying on of hands? Could it have been something that he'd been dealing with for years believing GOD for healing for? We so-called brethren are so not in tune with the SPIRIT and nature of GOD and it angers me too. If GOD were to shout everyone's sin out to the world NONE of us would stand upright. The unbeliever is forgiven for such un-godly response as they do not know better but to have the people one has served fault, abuse, disgrace and humiliate the church of Christ and a fellow Christian in such a manner, without taking into consideration the fact that God could have exhonerated the person is so anti-Christ. Jesus teaches us to love and at the same time chastise. We were told to depart from the sinner if they were unrepentant not to put them in stocks if they confessed and asked for forgiveness! Lord have mercy...it really beggers belief.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sat, 12/03/2011 - 7:33pm.

How can we trivialise debased acts by supposed men of God, who are wolf in sheep clothing. Did he really confess or he was found out. This act occurred between 2003-2004, and this 2011. With the influx of people peddling the word of God for profit, who is really a true man of God. There are some acts that is hardly expected of men who stand on the pulpit to advise people how to live. Being gay is one thing, but abusing young children is another. it is not my place to judge anyone, but how many of the apostles or disciples we strive to emulate were guilty of such debased acts. If people have chosen to be appointed men of God the least we expect is an exemplary behaviour and integrity. If they are so fallible what will happen to the body of Christ. These positions of authority are not forced on anybody. But the greed of peddling the word for profit does not allow them to think. While we are all sinners, it is easier to be lenient with the non clergy in matters like this not those who we should look up to. If you cannot stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.

brother or sister annonym, I so very much agree with you.  The Hilier than thou Christians are the ones who will quickly raise their clubs, arrows, matchets, and so on an embattled brother or sister, even whwn they nave seen the apparent repentance of tne brother.  One question keeps comming to mind - where is the kind of love Jesus showed to people like Zacheus, Mary Magdalene, etc, that should be amongst christians.  We often forget that judgement belongs to God and if God were to treat us as our sins deserve, no one can stand.

By strength shall no man prevail, therefore let us all pray for pastor Odulele and servants of most High God, because they are devil's prime target.

God bless the Body of Christ Jesus - the church, Aman.

I really thank God that he admitted his follies, no one on this earth is clean, the reason why Jesus came to save our souls. Yes!!!!!!!!!! he did it then should we Christian KILL him?. Every one will go through one trial or the other, it is just my prayer that we would pass when our test comes. I am pretty sure he would have repented as David did, and am sure of the Living God that I serve that He will FORGIVE, AND ACCEPT him as HE did for David. My God is a God of second chance, a forgiving God, unpredictable God and He will  vindicat him. Once there is Life there is Hope. I pray that the Lord will see him and his family through during this ordeal. Nobody has the right to condemn because we all have our different follies. May the Lord help us and take absolute control of all these mess Amen.

#35 Let He that Stand Take Heed Lest He Fall

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 08/03/2011 - 4:17pm.

Okay, so he did it and admitted doing it. He has not pointed fingers at anyone but himself so unlike Adam in the garden of Eden, he is one step closer to forgiveness.

The body of Christ need to wake up and fight the fight of faith rather than talking. The weapon of our warfare are not carnal but they are mighty and spiritual and this is what will pull down strongholds of pervasion in people's lives.

So he missed the mark, he who is without sin, let him cast the 1st stone. His sins has now been exposed, and what he needs is LOVE to show forth from the body of Christ right now. Just like apostle Paul says: "the thing which i don't want to do, that, I find myself doing. Who can save me from this flesh"

He is a fallen soldier right now and yes even though nature is not forgiving, God is a very forgiving God and He will forgive him as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. God is a God of second chances and he will be given a second chance.

My heart and prayers goes to all the victims including his family, nobody deserves to be molested especially when you trust them with your soul. Every Christian leader has been called to watch over the soul of the followers and so they will be accountable on the last day.

But, pls brethren, lift Albert up in prayers and his family and victims of this alleged abuse, while the world condemn him, pray for him instead. After all, as Christians, we are to pray for those that persecute us, and love those that despitefully use us.

Jeremiah Chapter 10 explains what happens to pastor who abuse their flocks so you may want to read it and then intercede greatly.

Pls note that I am not saying what Albert did is okay nor am I condoning abuse of minors or anyone, I just want us to show some LOVE that covers a multitude of sin.

#36 The righteous falls seven times...

Submitted by Austen Ezeifedi (not verified) on Wed, 09/03/2011 - 6:26pm.

The event happened in 2003/2004. I hope the pastor had sought spiritual guidance when he realized his weakness. If he did that, then he is in God's grace again. It takes but a second for God to forgive one his sin as He promised in 1John1: 9-10, I John 2:1-2. People who have been through the scourge of sin are better able to handle God's word for he who has received the greater pardon shows more gratitude to his Maker.

I know the first thought that rushed to my mind was to condemn, but the Holy Spirit reminded me that we are fallible creatures. The problem is not the sinner, but the sin. Any of God children that repents and comes back to the Lord will be forgiven as long as he does not continue in sin. God's children do not sin habitually. They may be overtaken by a fault from time to time (Hebrews 12:1-3), but they are not slaves to sin. That's the point. May our Lord hold him up as goes through this trial. Amen

Yes, let's pray for him and also for the victims and the church leadership that knew that things were amiss, but chose the easier option in believing that misquoted lie of enemy, "touch not the Lord's anointed".

They are just as guilty of turning a blind eye and should be held accountable too.

If this turns out to be true then it is really bad and he deserves to be prosecuted but I cannot help but think - when did it all start? Somebody somewhere is responsible for introducing the pastor to this shameful habit sometime in his past. He needs help. It is sad he did not look for help himself but kept it under cover and continued with it. Thank God that the children of this generation have more freedom to speak out. When we were younger, adults were always right and children could not express themselves and so even if you had a problem you could not say.

Dree your tone makes me wonder but on another note do you think it is easy for an AFRICAN BLACK MALE PASTOR to tell people that he is struggling with homosexual tendencies and paedophilic thoughts??! I agree that he should have sought help (maybe he did)  and those struggling should do the same HOWEVER; my question is WHO do you tell that kind of info in pentecostal circles? Many Pentecostals are the only Drs and Patients that I know who delight in killing those 'admitted to their hospital' humph! Leaders MUST be accountable but it's not as easy as you may think. I believe the church is supposed to be a hospital but we know the truth... There is a REAL LACK of the very thing Jesus said validifies our discipleship - and that's LOVE and then to make it worse HOLINESS, TRUE Biblical holiness is rarely taught and the masses are glad about it. So when we don't love the truth? THIS is what WE get...Take note Dree and all, this has happened to US...and not Pastor Albert alone, he made his bed but believe me via channel 4, the Body of Christ lies in it in some shape or format... let's remember that.... when ONE rejoices all rejoice (we love that part, especially when it's in 'success') but when one is mourning, falls or is down? Hmmmmm Lord help us indeed.

bro...you are AMAZING..... I cant believe there is actually still anybody who thinks like me left in this Body.  I just dont understand... Our perfect example - the Head of this Body over and over and over again showed himself to be a physician , a binder of wounds, not a 'stoner' ( even though that was the Law - and He himself said He came not to discredit the Law but to fulfill it).

The Body of this Head rather seems to do MUCH  better in the 'stoning' ministry.  Boy! are they good at it !! Your fellow soldier at the battle front stumbles, you help him the rest of the way to death and cut him into a thousand pieces with  a ferociousness and zeal that can only be matched by that of Saul of Tarsus.  That is the easy part believe me.  You dont even need to be in Christ to hate this kind of thing anyway - The so called Gay Bashers who mug them do a better job at it believe me.

Jesus's heart is breaking   and all you His 'Body' can do is judge and judge and judge.  Nothing wrong with that... but you are totally useless with the other aspect.  I know why.  It's because none of you shed one drop of your own Blood for Mankind.  It costs you nothing   -- that's why you are so useless at being a binder of wounds and a physician to the sick. It makes me soo angry and sad.

#43 Call a spade a spade & stop all the embelishment

Submitted by Annonymous (not verified) on Mon, 11/04/2011 - 6:43pm.

It is extremely annoying that there is an outpouring of sympathy for the predator, but rarely any mention of sympathy towards the victims. If the predator had been Joe Bloggs on the street, I am sure that many of you would be condenming his behaviour outright, calling for maximum punishment & will not be saying that we should pray for him & show compassion. If the victims had been your own children, I am sure you will all be singing a different tune. The man knew what he was doing & should have sought help earlier. The victims on the other hand were trusting, vulnerable & led to slaughter by their so called shepherd who turned out to be the wolf

It's one thing to struggle with his sexuality and that's his own business so I will pass no judgment, but to sexually assault a defenseless child whilst touting himself as a Man of God/Community father figure is another thing, and it's contemptible & despicable that he would use his sexuality as an excuse for paedophilia. Why not turn to a fellow consenting adult and leave children alone? Why not step down from his position of “power” (hypocritically representing the Kingdom of God) to get help for himself with whatever he deems his “struggles” to be, instead of bringing pain to his victims, shame to his family (also victims) & disrepute to other upstanding men/women of God. His shenanigans have damaged & will affect so many people on so many different levels and I hope that there are no more helpless victims/skeletons yet to be resurrected from his cupboard.

#48 Repent choose life

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sat, 05/03/2011 - 4:51pm.

I would just like to know, what would have happened if these assaulted ones were 22 yr olds? would that have absolved Albert form the sin of sodomy? UK and the rest of Europe and all we poor african youths parents etc trying hard to be civilised and modern are in trouble. HOMOSEXUALITY is wrong and against the Spirit of CHRIST. Would God not be an unjust judge if he made some people that way only to destroy Sodom and Gomorah anand then go on to say that such people will find themselves in the Lake of Fire?

Think wise ones (if indeed you are ) sin is sin whether it is politically correct or not. God word will for ever stand whether it is permitted by legislations or not.

I am glad that the mother cried out. Sad. Ifeel very sad and heavy, but I love God He would not be mocked. Titles don't hold sway with Him. If Albert is wise, he will go the wa of King David. Repent repent repent and reliquish all if he has to. Hell is real so is heaven. He has an opportunity to make a decision now. May he be wise enough to choose life. Amen.

By the way those young boys need spiritual counselling, they need to choose to follow God with all their hearts and not allow this experience to rob them of salvation through Jesus Christ, If they continue to sit on this bench of "he molested me" they will sadly become double loosers.

#49 Admittance is a journey towards healing

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 04/03/2011 - 1:10pm.

Thank God, that Albert Odulele has seen fit to come clean and save his family and church from going through an intense trial.  Sadly there are many victims in this, the direct victims and indirect victims, being his family and church.

Hopefully the church will be equipped spiritually & professionally to deal with the aftermath of all of this. Whilst people may be understanding of the underage victims, what kind of support is the 21 year old victim going to be given.  Chances are people will say that he is an adult and should know better.  But they need to see things from God's perspective, a Pastor is a spiritual leader and has the responsibility to care and protect the flock. Even in the secular world if the person giving the service crosses certain lines they will be struck off or imprisoned depending on what was done.

There is a power imbalance between doctor and patient, lawyer and client, dentist and patient or social worker and client.  The person in the position of authority is responsible to keep certain boundaries in place as there is an imbalance of power between the two.   I pray the 21 year old will receive the care and compassion that he will need from the church as well as Albert Odulele after his prison sentence, besides the underage victims.

There are many hurting people in this mess, not forgetting an entire congreation who put their trust in a respected man of God.  Let's pray for all involved and not judge anyone of not being worthy of God's grace and forgiveness.   Yes Albert Odulele is guilty and I myself have been the victim of similar behaviour from a former Pastor, but what does God expect from us in this situation.  Ye which are spiritual should restore those who are weak!

#50 Sex offences

Submitted by Aden (not verified) on Fri, 04/03/2011 - 11:04am.

Now that Dr Albert Odulele has admitted sexually violating a 14 year old boy and a 21 year old man, I believe this gives people in the faith a clearer direction on how to intercede for him. It is important that we understand that Dr Albert needs treatment to reduce the risk he poses to children. However, the treatment will not totally cure him, but will support him to manage his behaviour.

Incarceration is not the solution but rather, will only keep our children safe from people like him for a period. I pray that the Court will take these into consideration when sentencing him. This is not the time for the church to be silent, but they should be more vocal and be grateful that as a black West African church where it is forbidden to talk about such, people are now coming forward to expose such indecent atrocities.

Christians should wake up and no longer focus on ‘’Men’’ but should look on to God. Wake up and stop allowing people to manipulate, and twist the word of God to exploit you. It is not wrong to challenge your leaders in a constructive manner, but it is wrong to allow them to exploit you to your own detriment. My stand on this issue is that we should stop elevating mortals and we should return to the basic principles in the bible about service to GOD.

Are all these large conferences, seminars to equip the body of Christ or to enrich people’s pockets.

Believers there is no room for ignorance any longer, let us serve the Lord in truth and in spirit.
