Dr Albert Odulele will spend 8 months in prison

The case progression personnel at Woolwich Crown Court confirmed to IQ4News, that Dr Albert Odulele was sentenced to 8 months on the first count, and 6 months on the second.

He will be serving both sentences concurrently, and will therefore spend a maximum of 8 months in prison.

Pastor Albert Odulele, who is a trained medical doctor, will also appear in the sex offenders register for five years.

Judge Charles Byers, who gave out the sentence said: "You were a man in a position of trust who was well respected. People turned to you for advice and no doubt for comfort."

In a pre-sentencing report, Odulele said: "I am ashamed of my behaviour as homosexuality is at odds with my religious beliefs."

"I am extremely distraught and upset at the hurt and distress I have caused the victims."

The UK-based pastor, born to Nigerian parents, was earlier accused of sexually assulting former members of his congregation at Glory House International, London.

He later admitted the charges at Bexley Magistrates Court, which included the assualt of a 14 year-old boy, and a 21 year-old man.

#1 For all have sinned and fall

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 23/01/2012 - 5:55pm.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Therefore let he who have not sinned cast the first stone. Dr Pastor Odulele had confessed and apologise for his sin.

Brethren, stones are thrown mostly at the fruitful Trees, hence great men of God are more susceptible to attack.

The body of every man, including Men of God, is a continual battle between the spirit and the flesh; and that of the men of God are more intensified. Every victim should be seen as a fallen soldier but not to be mocked.

No British or American soldier will mock his fellow fallen soldier on the front-line. Rather they will do every thing possible to save their fellow soldiers.May God open the eyes of all, good or bad, Christians to see the spiritual settings of the battle we are into.

The only Christian that will mock a man of God in trouble is the Christian that is spiritually blind, low/no rank and a burden in the spiritual arena.

It is very sad to note that while in trouble many Christians go to men of God but mocked men of God who are in trouble.

This pastor, a victim of demonic attack, is serving for his punishment but I wonder how many of us are keeping our lips sealed about our individual sins only to serve our punishment in Hell; except God have mercy.

Well what can i say. It is so hard to believe but it just goes to show that God can and will use anyone to get His message heard.
After all who is man, what is man? Only God is without sin. We need to stop thinking that pastors are holier than thou and they can do no wrong because of their position!!

Let this be a lesson to all of us. We need to soak ourselves in the word and pray that whatever the devil has stored up for us shall not prosper in Jesus name. Be careful of judging, no matter how heinous the crime. Sin is sin in Gods eyes - so he who is without sin cast the first stone.

By the sounds of it, it seems that there is no fear of God by some of the comments read. It seems a bit fleshy.
Ask yourself what would jesus do?

His arse should be fried by netting at least seven years in jail. There are a lot of pastors like him, who for one reason or the other are not exposed by Nigerians. This light sentence will only encourage his cronies to keep abusing members of their congregation. Isn't it time for the government to regulate their unchecked and unrestricted access to large funds. Please investigate his br***er too. I guarantee bigger skeletons in his cupboard. (fact)

#5 WHat about prayers for the victims

Submitted by B Lever (not verified) on Mon, 11/04/2011 - 6:34pm.

It is extremely annoying that there is an outpouring of sympathy for the predator, but rarely any mention of sympathy towards the victims. If the predator had been Joe Bloggs on the street, I am sure that many of you would be condenming his behaviour outright, calling for maximum punishment & will not be saying that we should pray for him & show compassion. If the victims had been your own children, I am sure you will all be singing a different tune. The man knew what he was doing & should have sought help earlier. The victims on the other hand were trusting, vulnerable & led to slaughter by their so called shepherd who turned out to be the wolf

It's one thing to struggle with his sexuality and that's his own business so I will pass no judgment, but to sexually assault a defenseless child whilst touting himself as a Man of God/Community father figure is another thing, and it's contemptible & despicable that he would use his sexuality as an excuse for paedophilia. Why not turn to a fellow consenting adult and leave children alone? Why not step down from his position of “power” (hypocritically representing the Kingdom of God) to get help for himself with whatever he deems his “struggles” to be, instead of bringing pain to his victims, shame to his family (also victims) & disrepute to other upstanding men/women of God. His shenanigans have damaged & will affect so many people on so many different levels and I hope that there are no more helpless victims/skeletons yet to be resurrected from his cupboard.

#7 Remember d Victims -They r d children Jesus speaks aboutMat18:6

Submitted by Why (not verified) on Tue, 12/04/2011 - 1:06pm.

What these FAKE CHRISTIANS have succeeded in doing is akin to putting a stumbling block in front of a blind person.

Their public show of supposed love (via e.g. screaming facebook groups 'we stand by pastor albert odulele' as well as commenting in his favour on blogs like this) is like the proverbial pharisee who stands in the corner boasting of his 'perfection'.

Their attempts to cloak their disdain for the real victims (some supporters have equated the horror people have felt at their position by calling themselves 'all affected & involved') in tepid motions of very public prayer is not hidden from sane observers.

Because of their rabid and very public support ALL MOLESTED CHILDREN in their midst know NOT TO SPEAK UP about 'pastor's' sexual assault. They know they will be shut down, maligned and told not to judge the pastor. They will be told not to 'touch' the Lord's anointed and that if they have no sin 'let them cast the first stone'. They will be told to keep it in the 'house' and not involve LAW ENFORCEMENT.

The entire church machinery will begin a very PUBLIC SUPPORT for 'PASTOR' even when the investigation is not complete (that is if the children manage to overcome the attempts to stop it from getting to law enforcement). From what we have seen in this case the church machinery will be available and ready to hide the 'shame' of PASTOR's pedophilic acts RATHER THAN PREVENT SEXUAL ABUSE from happening to another child.

If these commenters and his supporters weren't so blinded by their hero worship, they would, along with any sane people know that a very strong message should rather be sent that this is not condoned; that children/the vulnerable should be empowered to speak up against the 'goliaths' in their midst.

As long as these fake christians cannot say 'not on my watch' will this ever happen again to another child by sending A VERY PUBLIC MESSAGE IN SUPPORT OF THE VICTIMS who are scarred for life, they remain poor excuses of what the christian message is all about.

If you want to pray for pastor, do it in your closet rather than belittle the process God has began by exposing this pastor.

I think we should not be quick to judge. If we check deep down in our hearts we will sure discover little things that we deal with daily. We only need to pray that God grants us inner strength to overcome always and hold up the banner of Jesus high.

We need one another to stand else the world will laugh at us if we start to tear one another down, that is what the enemy wants.

Pls never cease to pray for the body of Christ.

#12 Dr Albert Odulele's Topic

Submitted by Sharon Bassey (not verified) on Sat, 09/04/2011 - 8:37am.

Hey People of God, Just wanted to contribute to this forum. Thanking all who have contributed both positively & negatively. Remember God's own word says "All have sinned & fallen short of His glory! There is none righteous among us but we have been made Righteous in Him. Since our righteousness is of God through the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the Cross @ Calvary. We are all sinners beloved & who are we to judge another? Please spend quality time to pray for men, women/ ministers of God in whatever capacity they may be serving. They like everyone of us are human, subject to like passions & temptations.

Cover them & their families with the blood as the enemy~Satan is seriously waging war against God's people. They are subject to heavy & constant attacks that's why they need our constant prayers & intercessions. When they fall into sin, pls approach the issue with restoration in mind & not condemnation. In times such as these, they need people to encourage them back to a right standing with God & not plunge them deeper into sin & hopelessness. True repentance is met with pardon/ forgiveness @ the feet of the cross of Jesus Christ. God is faithful & just to forgive us of all our Sins/unrighteousness if we repent!

Pls also remember that when such a sin occurs in the house of God, a lot of people are affect directly/ indirectly (both ways). The victims, the offenders, the church (the body of Christ), the unbelievers etc. this has a huge rippling effect on people beyond our scope or imagination. So remember condemning will not put right the wrong that has been done. Nasty remarks & comment are noy the solution people of God, PRAYER is! The word of God implores us to PRAY WITHOUT CEASING! I you dont know what to pray & u are Holy Ghost filled/ baptised, pray in tongues & ask for God's guidance to help direct your prayers effectivel

I believe God who has called these ministers will judge them. So let spend more time in studying the word of God & concentrate our energies on how to live our lives asl iving sacrifices, holy & acceptable to Him~God! Learn from other people's mistakes so we dont end up repaeting such avoidable mistakes and as God's embassadors we should live by example. Be a mirror image of Christ here on earth and remain rapturable! Live each day as though it were your last! Jesus Christ eill surely reture to take His people home, so be mindful of the reality of Heaven & Hell and choose u this day who you will serve. God or Satan. Heaven or hell the choice is your to make. Remember, for God so loves the world that He sent Jesus Christ to DIE THAT WE MAY LIVE!

Finally, to Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and Priests to serve His God and father~ to Him be glory and power for ever more~Amen!(Rev 1v6. Ephesians 2 v 1 ~ 5. Pls read. For it is by grace we have been saved not by works so that no ~one should boast. We were created in Christ Jesus to do good works ~ not to condemn, judge, accuse, back~bite, slander, critizise, gossip about, snare or tarnish others. Come on guys, lets go out there & fulfill the great commission~ EVANGELIZE! Channel our energies posiyively & be productive in the Vineyard. Salvation is a free gift ~ share the beauty of the work of Christ on the cross & save lives from Hell!

God, bless u & keep U until his reture. Stay in the word & be rapturable! Like a thief Jesus will reture. No one knows the hour so be diligent in all your ways and fear God in all that u do. God bless u in Jesus name, Amen!

Agape,

Shaz!

I have just heard this news and checked, what a shock and disgrace. My God be with and help the victims through their recovery process. However some comments here from so called xtians are terrible.

Fidelis, you need your head examined and since you condone this act, i will be praying that when this guy comes out his next victim will be your son, cousin, or some relations. I will like to hear and see you smile.

I heard this guy preach and attended his church, he represents a position of authority and leadership. He should sort his demons out if he has problems, he's a Doctor as well. He should be flogged (koboko laced with pepper) for all you christians out there saying rubbish and making excuses for this man's sex acts - you need your head examined as well.

He should have got 7-10yrs - with 2 times a week 10strokes flogging and i hope they deal with him inside.

I guess Dr Albert had the chance to repent to turn from his ways, you can't fool God all the time. He is a loving God and want's the best for us. I think that God wants to us him in the prison and also to change the life of Homo (no disrespect to you gues but its wrong).

Those apologizing for the pastor's offences pls give a break. he confessed when he was evebtually caught. It it was in Nigeria, the matter would have been labelled as rumours against 'an anionted man of God'. And his devotees would rain all sorts of curses on the supposed detractors. Even educated persons can't figure out some of the deceptions behind the 'bless you' every moment incantations of the so-called ordained ones. If we are to go on full scale enquiry, some of the owners of these churches have commited so many atrocities. Their members are wont to hero-worship. so there lies the problem, the pastor preaches, prays and thinks+ decides for his devotee. That's the tragedy modern-day religion. People! look be4 u leap. or shine your eyes. keep your distance. worship and go home don't get too close to a 'man of God'.

#21 ODULELE SCANDAL

Submitted by Godwin Achunine (not verified) on Tue, 05/04/2011 - 5:48am.

1 Corinthians 5: 1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have pu...t out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord. 6 Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? 7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.   9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.   12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you (1 CORINTHIANS 5: 1-12).     I have enclosed 1 Corinthians 5 for our instruction in righteousness. Dr Odulele has sinned against God and against his fellow humans. Quite agreed we are all sinners. God our Father is very merciful in not dealing with us as we deserve. He goes to great lengths and perserves with us, giving us chances upon chances to repent. As a loving and caring Father, He does this through admonition, chastisement, rebuke and as we continue to harden our hearts, He finally scourges us.   Dr Odulele no wonder would HAVE been given all these chances to turn from his evil, shameful and disgraceful behaviour, but did not repent. This is a married man with children who calls himself a man of God, yet for his selfish desires was only so eager to deny his Lord and Saviour without shame or remorse. How could he have continued living a life of lie and deceiving people in the name of Christ. God still loves him and that is why He has handed him over to Satan to be scourged, so that his flesh may be crucified and in the process his soul may be saved. If we claim to be Christians, we should submit to the authority of Scripture and stop getting into all these silly and foolish unprofitable philosophical arguments, rationalising and condoning sin instead of being shameful about it.   It is also clear from Scripture that before he should mount the pulpit again to be a spokesman of God, he would need to go through a period of counselling and rehabilitation. He needs to read the pastoral epistles of Timothy and Titus for guidance and instruction in righteousness.   23 By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible (Hebrews 11:23-27). Matthew 16:24 and Luke 9:23 both say this: Jesus told His disciples “ If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me”.   As much as I do not want to gloat over Dr Odulele’s predicament, I must be honest to myself and ask him or his twin pastor brother this pertinent question “What sort of gospel were you preaching? I am very sure if they would be honest to themselves, and perhaps that is why God is giving them a second chance, they would realise that the wealth and money gospel they were preaching (name it and claim it by faith) do not get people anywhere near heaven at all. This is because people that preach and listen to that gospel of how we are supposed to live and have a wonderful time in this world, sooner rather than later start making this passing world their heaven on earth, thereby losing sight of the authentic heaven to come. Where your heart is, there your treasure is also. Did they ever read the epistles of Paul the apostle, how he endured hardship for the sake of Christ, how his greatest longing and prayer was to know Christ and participate in the fellowship of His suffering. Enough of peddling the gospel for money. O Lord God Almighty continue Thou Thee the purging of your Church, in Jesus name, Amen. Anybody who has issues with my contribution to this matter, should sort it out with God, as I have not written down my own opinion (we should have none when God speaks) but rather declared sincerely the Word of God    See More

#23 I Pray For Him

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 04/04/2011 - 10:45pm.

Do you know why I pray for him? Though he has done the most unimaginable things he has finally agreed to his fault. There are some and I have facts. I not a victim but I know pastors in renowned ministries in Nigeria who are indulging in this sexual sin of fornication, adultery, homosexuality and and are coopting people lying under the guise that there is nothing wrong in sleeping with somebody that is not your wife.

If I give this example the ministry am talking about and the person will know, but I dont really care. The Bible says he that covereth his sins shall not prosper. You are livid when some of your sdo called staff are cut in fornication not because you are so concerned but because somebody is sleeping with the person you are sleeping with. You are a great man of God but this aspect of your life which you have kept hidden from your members who are living in denial and the world at large will be the undoing of your ministry if you do not repent. Even the pastors that are supposedly your close allies are involved in this and you are aware and you have never publicly spoken or rebuked the,. Why are you now surprised that a lot of your pastors despite the anointing are doing this.

I watched one of your healing meetings and I was crying becayse I said to myself so much anointing but itis being corrupted by this lifestyle. You thought it was hidden but too many of us now know and you loose so many more of true loyal members, helpers of the war if you do not do anything. I am using this medium to appeal to you. I hope somebody from this ministry high up will see this and tell the man of God to do something we are watching. As I am talking my bags are packed to leave the ministry because I am tired of this and those of us that are against this wicked sin that reminds me of what Balaam did read Jude are being punished in the most cruel way- OSTRACISATION, LABELLED DISSIDENTS.

The church of the Lord will continue to match on but all these things shall be exposed. DO not forget the story of Earl Paulk. When you do pastor worship when the pastor is in trouble you might not be able to recover. Serve God not the pastor. Respect him but let the word of God be the final authority not what the pastor says except it is in line with God's Word

We refused to be detred by these issues. God still has men and women of God who  ot succumbed even though they still have the flesh. They do not tempt themselves. When a man knws he has issues with women and 90 percent of the people around him are women then he is not tempted he is drawn away by his own lust. Thank God for men like Kenneth Copeland, Frederick Price who have set good examples for us to follow. May the Lord continually strengthen you.

Becoming a bit sick and tired of some the sentiments being posted. Yes, praying for this Pastor is good, but what exactly was the church doing whilst he was commiting these crimes?  All this talk about not judging, do we not realise that because the church has failed to protect these victims from this sexual predator that God's judgement was executed by the courts.  It has NOTHING to do with judging, he commited indecent criminal acts and was reported, simple as that.

There is so much about praying for this Pastor, but what about the broken and shattered lives of his victims?  What about the other 8 victims that were probably to ashamed and traumatised to give evidence to the police?  And what about the other victims who have kept completely silent and are no doubt suffering emtionally and and have had their spirits raped?

I can almost guarantee you that when Odulele claimed that he did not premeditate the abuse, he was lying.  Why with all that money do you need to be sharing a bed with two other men in the U.K? The hotel he stayed at had many rooms with twin beds, there was never a reason for a grown married pastor to be sharing a bed with other men.

He knew exactly what he was doing and yet peole are still praising him as this wonderful man of God.  Yes, he does need our prayers, but the victims have also been given a life sentence because of what he did to them.  Where is our compassion, restoration programmes, deliverance for them?

May God have mercy on us as black people for being so absolutely gullible and creating such a situation that although he was challenged, we let him continue to function as a pastor.  Let's get real now, do we seriously believe he is the only one that is hiding such struggles.  Homosexuality and peodophilis are rife in the black community, but we continue to cover up pretending these issues do not effect us and this is the devastating result. Shame on us!!

#28 Is better to pray than to judge

Submitted by Pastor Roland akporiaye (not verified) on Fri, 01/04/2011 - 7:29pm.

As unfortunate as this situation is. It is our God given responsibility to pray for pastor odulele, the victims and the church. As human beings it is so easy to judge and quickly condemn, however if given the same opportunity we might do worse. I choose to see the redemptive side of God in this matter. We have become a judgmental and unforgiven society. As much as I condemn d act I do not condemn the man. He's has no doubt bless people. Let's rather pray 4 him and his family and not be quick to give an opinion.

#29 Pastor Odulele - response to Pastor Roland Akporaiye

Wait until your little baby gets raped by someone you both trusted, then you can come back and test the veracity of your ability not to condemn and not to judge. I am pretty sure if your little boy's anus was vandalised by a fully erect adult penis and his little young penis was bruised by the brutal suction force of an adult male's mouth, you will be very quick to forgive the brutal rapist and child molester. I am sorry I have to be graphic with you Pastor Akporiaye because that along side with nightmares, day terrors, panic attacks, depression, loss of appetite, weight loss, regression, suicide, sexual identity confusion etc, is the reality of child sexual abuse. When it is clergy abuse, it is even worse as it destroys, these youngster's faith in their faith and religion, their redeemer, the Christ! Please do get in touch with me (MML777@yahoo.co.uk) when that happens to you and your child and tell me honestly that you are quick to forgive. I will person pray for the rest of my life that God reserves a front row seat for you in heaven because it will be obvious that you definitely are not of our human race and you belong in Heaven straight away! Wait until it happens to you, then you will know the pain that these victims and their families have to live through for the rest of their lives. Sexual molestation of a minor is a criminal, immoral act with far reaching psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual effects and implications for the victims. 8 months is a joke, but it serves no purpose for no one, believe me. If you want to learn more about child sexual molestation and how to protect your loved ones, I suggest you read "Childhood, it should not hurt" by Dr. Claire Reeves, and/or google mothers against sexual abuse.

I read your reply to my comment on this blog. I want to believe you understood the basis of my comment which is scripture. I am not denying the seriousness of the damage that was done to the victims. It is horribly unfortunate and would possibility take a long while to recover from. That being said it is equally not fair to rule out forgiveness and redemption. It is normal human reaction to condemn and judge what is bad and wrong. God placed that in all humans. That's why the legal system has taken is course of action. But I still believe we will make a much better impact through prayer and forgiveness. Trust me bitterness will only bring darkness to your soul that will colour your sense of judgement. Jesus instructed us to forgive not just because of the offending party but because of the offended. You will never have true closure until you forgive. On the basis of what Jesus had done we are under divine obligation to pray and forgive. I am not trying to sound idealistic or perfect I am simply stating what the scripture says. God help us all and have mercy upon us

#32 In The Last Days

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 01/04/2011 - 5:47pm.

The bible says in the last days the love of many will wax cold men shall be lovers of themselves. The nature of man is to be to be selfish and only think of their fleshly needs. It takes someone very special to be a man of God and not use the pulpit as a means of curbing their sexual desires. God will judge him, but those who act as though he never sinned at all are missing the point! Wake up! we are living in the last days!

Stop making excuses for SIN!!!! It is wrong! Does anyone feel sorry for the 14 yr old boy???? My God! The pastor should be thanking God that he was exposed!. So it will lead to true repentance And if you are lying scamming at cheating you better pray that God exposes you too! If you don't live according to the word of God you are going to hell. If you fall short and continue to make excuses for why you think your sin is justified instead of repenting and turning away you are guilty of sin, and God will not know you.

God have mercy on us all!

Its amazing how people can come up with all sort of excuses to try to exonerate people like this from their misdemeanor,I'm glad he did this in England where there's true justice,if it were back in Nigeria,it would have been the enemies at work. This only goes to show that people should never trust these so called men of God...they are all still humans. I hope by the time he's out he will keep perversion under check.

#37 MY CONTRIBUTION TO THE ODULELE SCANDAL

Submitted by Godwin Achunine (not verified) on Tue, 05/04/2011 - 5:45am.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 31/03/2011 - 3:42pm.

when he comes out, his reception will be better than Bode George's.

Also, he never held a certificate to practice medicine in the UK so he will still be entitled to use the title of Dr.

However, I unreservedly and totally agree with that his reputation is now tainted.

Only fools will still insist he is innocent, as some quarters have been advocating.
