About us

CSNZ is a voluntary, non-profit grassroots network of cancer survivors, co-survivors and medical practitioners, all with a common goal; to reach out, support, educate and advocate for better health care services for people whose lives have been impacted by cancer.  We are governed by our constitution.

Advocacy

We are pioneering cancer advocacy in Zambia  by opening communication channels with Policy Makers to ensure health care delivery for cancer patients is improved.

Education

We disseminate information about cancer to the public through workshops, community outreach programs, publications and the internet.
Our Cancer Survivors educational workshops give survivors the tools they need to move beyond the cancer experience to live their lives to the fullest!
Support
  • Emotional Support is offered to cancer survivors outside the clinical setting (hospitals can be depressing to most patients).  Peer support for survivors, co-survivors reaching out to new co-survivors, counseling conducted by professional and occupational therapists trained in the rehabilitation of patients with physical and emotional disabilities.
  • Spiritual Support:  Faith-based spiritual support offered to the whole family.  Respect and regard is given to a patient’s spiritual beliefs.
  • Financial Support offered to qualified patients to cover treatment related costs such as transportation to and from a medical institution, lodging, child care, or prescription medications.

Social events for cancer survivors & care givers

At CSNZ we understand the psychological restorative benefits of belonging to a “sisterhood” or “brotherhood” of people who have a common bond.  Our social events and acitivities provide a safe-haven and friendship to help eliminate the sense of depression that most patients experience while going through treatment.
