Would you support the abolishment of polygamy in your [African] country? Why?

MUCH ADO ABOUT PLOYGAMY

As a Muslim i dont see the issue of polygamy from the regional and or cultural perspective, rather from the religious point of view. The quran allowed it (maximum of 4 wives), however from my little knowledge i have not seen any place where it still encouraged it,

"anyone who shows a single grain size of inequality amongst them (wives) will rise on the day of judgement with only half of their body"

The quran said "IN THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH WE HAVE SET FOR YOU A PERFECT EXAMPLE", however we all know prophets are different from the other lots and while indeed there are exceptions, in contemporary times we find nothing but trouble surrounding even a monogamous setting (treats of infidelity which indeed is ever escallating these days as the root of its perpetual troubles)talkless of a polygamous setting.

The quran has and will always be a source of knowledge, light, proof, evidence and guidance, however With more and more troublles brewing in the world today in my opinion "if you cant be at peace dont do it, for me?... i know i cant cuz i have enough for just one woman"

I am Muslim and I BELIEVE THAT THE WISDOM OF GOD surpasses that of Man (all of them combined) so if GOD has allowed it, who am I to abolish it?

Of course I mean GOD has allowed it with conditions. I am not in support of those who abuse that permission.

I dont like polygamy,but if the men are capable of taking care of the women and the children,well..fine.what s appalling is when men who cant even take care of themselves,collects women as if it s running out of fashion,thereby increasing the number of street children and social miscreants.moreover,state governors and other major government ... See Moreofficials with so many wives and children have contributed to the underdevelopment of Nigeria.state allocations are used to take care of their families,the little that remains is then used to cover pot holes and paint dillapidated buildings.

Tell IQ news to also do a poll on how and what we are to do with the over population of women worldwide, a ratio of about 3 to 1 of men. I ws born into monogamy,but i know so well that polygamy had rescued the pride,dream and hopes of many African women. Lol
