Happy New Year

When I started IQ4News in 2007, it had very little to do with Africa. It did however mark the beginning of my love for the media.
2009 was the pivotal point for the website, marking the start of a journey in the liberation of all African voices.

Although I had originally planned to only use the website for my own purpose, I was overhelmed by the response and offers to submit articles to the website, that it almost became selfish of me to use this platform for my own use.

THE EAST AFRICAN COMMON MARKET



Last year the presidents of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi who are also leaders of the East African Community (EAC) signed into effect a common market protocol which will see goods, services and labor flow through the region unhampered.

The region is regularizing the customs union, which allows for a common external tariff for goods coming into the EAC, which was a necessary precursor to the common market.
